Evidence Based Behavior Supports (set 2 UGB) Tillamook

COHORT SERIES (Participants must commit to attending all five sessions in order to participate in this series and receive a certificate for ORO credit at the end). This series of 5 trainings (15 total hours) is designed to develop participants’ understanding of Evidenced-Based Behavior Support (EBBS) practices related to developing the early emotional regulation skills of children. Three main areas are covered:

 (1) Unpacking provider assumptions about behavior and using culturally responsive practices; (2) understanding the influence adult behavior and environmental arrangements has on children's behavior, and (3) how to minimize children's escalation to including tantrums and aggression while maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all. Participants will be involved in meaningful activities to develop skills and apply knowledge of these best practices to their unique settings.




Lead Presenter Info:

Dr. Ben Smith, CEO of iBehaviorSupport, has over 20 years’ experience as a professor, federally funded researcher, behavior specialist, classroom teacher, and consultant/trainer. He has been recognized for his work related to better understanding coercive escalation cycles between adults and children and improving the functional behavioral assessment process. He has worked across the country to build durable, integrated and sustainable multi-tiered educational systems that build the emotional regulation skills of ALL children and promote professionals’ use of Evidence-Based Behavior Support (EBBS) practices. His expertise has been sought out as guest reviewer in many professional journals and has been involved in several state-wide initiatives related to positive behavior supports. Dr. Smith’s professional conference presentations, university-level courses, and professional and community trainings have consistently been sought after and rated as meaningful and impactful.
