Set 2 and 3 Virtual Trainings are here!

This quarter, we will be partnering with Child Care Resource & Referral of Marion, Polk & Yamhill Counties to offer Set 2 (and one Set 3) trainings online. This partnership offers the opportunity for us to best serve our providers in the rural outlying areas of our region as well as those who provide extended-hour and weekend care. There will be a range of Core Knowledge Categories offered this quarter as well as opportunities for trainings delivered in Spanish. We hope you enjoy these trainings, find them supportive of your work, and are able to share some feedback with us as we plan ahead for offering virtual opportunities in our own region. Here are some FAQ’s about these trainings:

Q: How much will this cost me?

A: Nothing. As with all of the trainings offered through our region, we are committed to offering these opportunities for free. You will register through our training calendar and we will coordinate your participation in this training.

Q: How well do I need to be able to use a computer?

A: You only need to be able to connect to the internet and your email to participate. After you register, you will receive a link in your email a few days before the training date. This link will take you straight to the website to participate. If you need support, please call the Professional Development Specialist in your county and they can help you with any questions/concerns you have.

Q: Can I do this if I am not available at the time/date listed?

A: This is a ‘live webinar’ which means you will need to log on and be in attendance at the time and date listed. A Professional Development Specialist will be logged on to take attendance at the beginning of the training and participation is required for the full length of the training in order to receive credit.

Q: How will I receive my certificate?

A: One of our Professional Development Specialists will be taking attendance and will email certificates after communicating with the trainer.

Q: I don’t have a webcam or microphone. Can I still do this?

A: Yes, you are able to participate by typing in the chat box during the training.

Q: Can I do this with a group of people?

A: Yes! This is a great opportunity to get together with other professionals and participate as a group. When you log on, just identify everyone in your group in the chat box. Even if you do not watch from the same computer/location, it would be good for you to reach out to others to talk about the material as a group or team after the training is over. If you aren’t yet connected with anyone in your area, ask your PD Specialist if they can suggest others to take this together with and share your thoughts.
